"She is incredibly knowledgeable but breaks everything down in such an accessible way. Her classes are also really comfortable, which takes some of the edge off sharing."

Alicia is changing lives out here! I thought I'd never finish an original pilot... but with her knowledge and guidance, I did.
TV Camp Beta
My name is Alicia. I'm a professional screenwriter and playwright who has written for networks like NBC, Peacock and Freeform, live shows and podcasts for Crooked Media, short-form series for Facebook and even branded content for brands like New York Liberty. I'm also a proud Writers Guild of America West member, and captain! When I'm not writing, what I love most is helping other writers master the craft of television and become the masterminds of the future of entertainment.
I've been teaching screenwriting for 9 years and TV writing specifically for the past 5 at places like The Writing Pad, The Writers Guild Foundation, Humanitas, and Sundance Collab, as well as my own learning community, Story Brain Academy.
Before I got staffed, I was a script reader for festivals and competitions, a story analyst for production companies, a literary assistant for managers and agents, and I supported showrunners through the development process to get their shows on the air. Needless to say, I've been in the position of "gatekeeper," and I understand what gets writers noticed, and what gets them lost in the slush pile.
And, as a writer with ADHD, I struggled to grasp certain aspects of the TV writing process at first. It wasn't until I discovered my unique Story Brain and started molding my writing process to what I need creatively that things truly unlocked for me, and that's the basis of my teaching philosophy today. Now, I take all of that experience to help writers master television writing, but also learn how to position themselves professionally to gain a foothold in the business.
